You’re probably thinking that learning how to make a paper airplane step by step is very trivial, as almost everybody already knows how to do it. But you’ve probably also noticed that a lot of paper airplanes don’t fly or glide as much as you want them to, and this is because there might be something that you did while folding the paper. To make the perfect paper airplane that glides smoothly, read on and learn the instructions below.
First and foremost, you should make sure that you are using the right kind of paper when learning how to make a paper airplane step by step. The weight and size of the paper will play a big role as to how the airplane will fly. A medium-sized sheet of notebook paper or computer paper will do well with this type of project.
After choosing the type of paper to use, lay out the paper on a flat surface such as a table with the longer side facing you. Fold the paper lengthwise and flatten the middle part and make a sharp crease after making the edges even.
Fold one corner of the paper down towards the crease that you just made, making a small triangular area on the upper-left corner of the paper and creasing it as well. Turn the paper over and do the same with the other side.
Once you’ve made two triangular flaps on each side, fold one side of the paper again, making sure that the edges line up with the flap. Again make a crease by pressing your thumbs to flatten the paper.
Turn the paper over and do the same thing with the other side as well. Repeat the two previous steps to create the wings of the paper airplane. After doing this, hold the plane on the bottom part and smoothen out the wings.
Make a tear of about ½ inch 4-5 inches away from the tip of the paper airplane and fold it. Once you have done this, hold the plane and release it by using a gliding motion.
The paper airplane that you just made should glide smoothly, but if you feel that it needs a bit more tweaking, you can go through how to make a paper airplane step by step again.
